The Mississippi River could be one of the most useful natural features for people trying to survive in the zombie apocalypse. It can be used to move freely in a way that roads cannot; while zombies can survive in water they can’t attack you in a river the way they can ambush you on a road. That means St. Louis would be a major destination for anyone making the trek up or down the river.

St. Louis is known for breweries. It’s the home of Anheuser-Busch, and beer can be useful in the apocalypse to help take the edge off how miserable things have become. We saw how useful beer was for the survivors of Fear the Walking Dead when the group came upon Jim the brewer. Having a brewski after a long day of fighting zombies is a great thing.

Kansas City is a great place to be because you can take refuge at the Kansas City Royals’ ballpark, Kauffman Stadium, while also collecting all of the BBQ sauce you can find. Like ketchup, you can put it on just about everything and when your selection of food starts to dwindle why not liven it up with BBQ sauce?
