As the penultimate episode of The Walking Dead season 9, expect big things from “The Calm Before.” Even the title suggests that something big is coming. Daryl and Connie were able to save Henry and Lydia, but that came with a terrible price: Alpha is out for blood now, and it doesn’t matter if she gets her daughter back or not. She’s coming for them, and she won’t stop until she gets what she wants.
The Kingdom has been preparing for the fair ever since we came back from the second time jump. Ezekiel sees the fair as a way to bring everyone back together and he’s hoping that the charter will be a way to do it.

“The fair at the Kingdom is underway, with all four communities coming together in celebration for the first time in years; while some pacts are renewed, other deals will come at a much steeper price.”
At the end of “Scars” Judith and Michonne had a difficult conversation, and it was Judith’s concern about Carol and their friends that led Michonne to decide to go to the Kingdom. Now that everyone has gathered, it’s time to celebrate and rekindle old friendships.
However, the Kingdom was discovered by two Whisperer scouts who saw Michonne and Judith arrive with Daryl, Connie, Lydia and Henry. That changed everything.
