The Walking Dead, Scars: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
11) Michonne killing Jocelyn’s pupils is the first time anyone’s killed a child in the show since Ron’s death in the Season Six midseason premiere, “No Way Out”, sadly, Michonne was the one who had to do the deed in that episode, too.
12) What happened to Winnie? She clearly had reservations about Jocelyn’s teachings. Did she eventually return to Alexandria? Was she ever found?
13) This episode gets its name partially from Judith looking at the wound on her arm and asking Michonne “Do you think this’ll leave a scar?“, in the larger context, its name comes from the fact this episode reveals the origin of Daryl and Michonne’s “X” scars, as well as how this event affected Michonne afterward (He distrust of strangers, refusal to help the other communities, etc.).
14) Additionally, this episode explains the mysterious “For after” Michonne thanked Daryl for as the pair were returning to Hilltop with Aaron, Jesus, Eugene, and Lydia in the midseason premiere, “Adaptation”.
15) Had Jocelyn and her pupils been pulling this same tactic on other groups, feigning injury, leading them to the rest of the kids, getting them taken in, then robbing them? Also, is what we see at the end of the episode (The kidnapping of Alexandria’s children), how Jocelyn had so many kids in her charge in the first place, by kidnapping them from other groups?
And, with that, we’ve concluded our Things To Note for this week. Was there anything you missed? Was there anything I missed? Feel free to throw in your things to note in the comments!
