D.J. And Frankie

The Hilltop took the brunt of the deaths in The Walking Dead “The Calm Before” but that doesn’t mean the other communities were untouched. If the Alexandrians had listened to Michonne’s warnings to avoid the fair they might have all survived. Unfortunately two residents from Alexandria ended up on the pikes: D.J. and Frankie. Their loss may be a little less devastating than it would have been to lose original members of Alexandria. Both D.J. and Frankie came to Alexandria from the Sanctuary after the end of All Out War.

As one of Negan’s wives Frankie didn’t have a lot of choice about her role in the Sanctuary so it was probably a little easier for her to earn the trust of the Alexandria residents. D.J. was a former loyal Savior who also supported Jed’s rebellion against Carol and his desire to start another war with the survivors who beat the Negan and the Saviors in All Out War.

After Rick’s apparent death it looks like D.J. figured that following Jed wasn’t going to be the right path to follow if he wanted to stay alive and he joined Alexandria. Michonne clearly trusts him because he is one of the Alexandrians who works security and helps keep an eye on Magna and her crew when Judith brings them to Alexandria.

D.J. may have gotten along with Negan as one of the Saviors but it appears that he didn’t get along that well with Alpha. Goodbye D.J. and Frankie, you both had a good run and a chance to experience life after Negan, at least for a few years.
