Several fans discovered that the final 25 minutes of The Walking Dead “The Calm Before” didn’t record but the full episode is available for free on AMC’s website.

The Walking Dead presented a supersized episode leading up to the season 9 finale, but apparently DVR systems across the country didn’t get the memo and the final 25 minutes were cut off. Given the enormity of “The Calm Before” this was a huge issue for fans hoping to return home and watch the episode before being bombarded by spoilers. Thankfully, AMC has the complete episode available on the website for free.

Blasted technology. There’s nothing worse than returning home to watch your favorite show only to find that it didn’t record. Sometimes it’s an equipment failure, a power outage or weather that knocks the system out, but this was a bit different because the first hour recorded as scheduled. It was the remaining 25 minutes that cut off, and while the reason might remain a mystery we’re happy to report that there is a solution.

Fans can go to AMC’s website right now to watch the full episode, free of charge. AMC always has full episodes available after the initial airdate, but they want people to know it’s an option for anyone who doesn’t know that and is trying to figure out how to see the last segment of the show.

From the look of it, AMC is actively investigating the situation and will let fans know how to move forward to avoid the situation with future episodes.

For future reference, you can set your DVR to extend the recording time past the scheduled ending. If you know an episode is going past its scheduled run time, you can manually change the recording to make sure you don’t miss anything.
