1. Let’s take a vacation

The first WTF moment from this episode took place even before the opening credits rolled for season 9 episode 15 of The Walking Dead, as two characters named Hilde and Miles were introduced to the show.

The couple was celebrating their anniversary by taking a little trip outside the community and exchanging gifts in an adorable scene which drew viewers in and got them invested in these characters quite quickly.

Sadly, the showing of love and celebration came to an end really quickly. A scene showed Alpha of the Whisperers standing over Hilde with a knife and her digging that sharp weapon into her skull to scalp her.

Considering all the threats out there, this probably wasn’t the best time to leave the safety of a walled community even if it was only for a short time. Normally, this would be a huge surprise in an episode, but this one offered many, many more.
