Our panel predictions for The Walking Dead episode 916: The Storm

The season finale of The Walking Dead titled “The Storm” is almost here and our panel has thoughts about what could be happening in the finale.

Another season of The Walking Dead is about to come to a close. And even though the show lost Rick Grimes just before the midseason break many fans and critics have said that season 9 is one of the best seasons the show has done.

The introduction of Alpha, Beta, and the Whisperers has been electrifying and the show continues to swerve from the comic just enough to keep people guessing about what coming. There is already a lot of speculation out there about what the season finale holds because the show delivered such a huge shock last week with the mass pike deaths. Will there be more deaths? Or will the storm take center stage for the final?

What we know based on teasers and trailers is that the Kingdom will end up being abandoned. It’s been in serious disrepair for a long time and it looks like the residents will finally need to pack up and go in order to survive. They head to Hilltop on a perilous snowy journey trying to beat the arrival of a serious winter storm.

It looks like they will need to risk breaking Alpha’s borderline or die, which will set up more conflict with the Whisperers in season 10. Here’s what our panel thinks could happen in The Walking Dead season 9 finale:

What are your predictions for the season finale “The Storm”?

Sonya says:

"I’m not sure how to predict anything because we’ve never seen anything like this before on the show, and that’s really exciting. I think there will be one more major death before the season ends, but I hope I’m wrong about that. I’m really looking forward to seeing this play out and I’m intrigued by what’s coming."

Sara says:

"I hear there might be a big surprise, so I’m definitely looking forward to whatever that is. I also think our characters are going to need to strategize in order to stay out of Whisperer territory, so that they won’t have to encounter Alpha again. I doubt that will happen though."

Jeffrey says:

"I have a bad feeling that the communities are going to have to be abandoned, at least temporarily. It definitely looks like Carol and Ezekiel lead an evacuation of the Kingdom, and the other communities might not be equipped to withstand such harsh conditions as well. I’m thinking we’ll see the characters find shelter elsewhere until the storm passes. Hopefully this finale is just a tease of what is to come and Season 10 is a continuation of the blizzard and we get to see even more snow."

Sarabeth says:

"I’m still going with the expect the unexpected theme. I have no idea what to expect, and I like that."
