The Walking Dead season 9 episode 16 synopsis: The Storm
The Walking Dead wraps up season 9 with episode 16, “The Storm.” Here’s your synopsis of the all-new episode airing March 31, 2019.
The season finale of The Walking Dead has arrived. After last week’s mind bending and heart wrenching story that saw the communities lose 10 of their own, it’s hard to tell where things go from here. However, no matter the loss life must go on, and with a winter storm bearing down there’s no time to waste.
There’s no question that Hilltop lost the most people on those pikes. Alpha and the Whisperers wanted to send a message, and they certainly did. But they also sent a message to Daryl and Lydia with Henry’s death. The cold calculation of each death reflects Alpha’s sheer ruthlessness, and now it’s clear that she has no boundaries whatsoever.
Here’s the episode description of The Walking Dead “The Storm” from AMC:
“In the aftermath of an overwhelming loss, the communities must brave a ferocious blizzard; as one group deals with an enemy from within, another is forced to make a life or death decision.”
At the end of “The Calm Before” the snow flurries were starting to fall. Now a full blown snow storm has arrived and it’s a game changer for the communities as they struggle to survive in the harsh elements. And with the lingering threat of the Whisperers still present, it’s hard to focus attention on anything other than survival.
Hopefully the season finale shows how the communities have been dealing with their grief following the horrific deaths. With so many key members gone, and so much pain surrounding every death, trying to move forward is no doubt a major challenge for them all.
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9pm on AMC, followed by Talking Dead with Chris Hardwick. This week’s guests include Angela Kang and Melissa McBride.
