Rick Grimes may have left The Walking Dead, but we will never forget all his iconic moments. Let’s revisit some of them, shall we?

Rick Grimes is a character that will always be the heart and soul of The Walking Dead. His legacy lives on through his badass daughter, Judith, and son RJ (let’s not forget this little munchkin he left behind with Michonne). He may not ever return to the series, but knowing he’s alive out there somewhere gives us some relief. We can’t wait for the movies to come out so they can fill the Rick Grimes-sized hole that has been left in our hearts.

Over the course of nine seasons, Rick Grimes went from a clueless police officer thrust into the zombie apocalypse to the man who was willing to sacrifice himself to save the ones he loves. The character progression he had was one of the most memorable we’ve ever seen unfold on a television show.

Andrew Lincoln’s portrayal of the infamous Rick Grimes is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. The way he reeled us into the psyche of a constantly evolving character is something we can ponder for ages. Thanks to Lincoln’s talent we stayed connected to Grimes and his tumultuous journey up until the very last moment.

In honor of everything Rick Grimes represented and was, we want to revisit some of his most iconic moments during his nine-season stint on The Walking Dead. Whether it’s reminiscing the birth of the “Ricktatorship” or the moment Rick straight-up bit into another human, there are simply so many good moments to talk about.

So, without further ado, let’s talk all things Rick Grimes, shall we?

Warning: Spoilers from The Walking Dead Seasons 1-9 ahead.
