The Walking Dead: 15 greatest Rick Grimes moments of all-time

No. 11: Rick Rises Above Another Heartbreaking Loss
Season 6, Episode 9: “No Way Out”
The one where Carl lost his eye and Rick lost his new bae (and her obnoxious children). It was an intense episode as the battle for Alexandria commenced. So much went down in this episode, and it was rather frightening for us, but mostly for Rick. After his “Rickstatorship” speech, Rick Grimes tried to be the voice of reason, fighting for his loved ones. But this particular battle was rough, even though they came out on top in the end.
But this is one of Rick’s defining moments because he pushed against the odds and won. We’re not going to lie when we say that things were looking pretty horrible for a while. But he did it, with the help of everyone else, of course, but his guidance and leadership brought everyone to a point where they could fight back.
A moment from this episode that will always stay with us out of pure frustration is when covered in guts, Rick leads the group out amongst walkers. It’s Rick’s girlfriend’s son, Sam, that causes a domino effect of madness after he starts screaming “Mom” in the middle of the walker horde. *Facepalm*
Sam, Jessie, and Ron all die within moments between the walkers devouring them and Michonne stabbing Ron with her katana as he tried to shoot Rick. And while everyone else somehow makes it out alive without becoming walker dinner, Ron’s gun still goes off–going right through Carl’s eye. In spite of all that went down, Rick did what he had to do and proved he is and will always be the group’s leader.
