Season 9 of The Walking Dead kicked off with a lot of hope. The survivors had won the war against the Saviors and now they were attempting to come together and build a new society where everyone can thrive.
On a trip to a museum to get a wagon, seeds, and other things, Kenneth Sutton, the son of Earl and Tammy Rose, did everything he could to protect the horses. While he was able to free the horses, he did not escape.
Bitten by walkers and kicked by one of the panicking horses, Kenneth sacrificed himself for the animals. While his death was explained as being heroic, his parents didn’t take his death well considering his age and his contributions to the Hilltop.
Thankfully, Maggie had stabbed him through the head so he wouldn’t return as a walker, but the damage done to the Sutton family as well as the impact it had on the Hilltop was a tough start to the season.
