Kathy and Norris

  • Played by: Nicole Barré / Aaron Farb
  • Introduced: Episode 706 “Swear”
  • Died: Episode 904 “The Obliged”
  • Killed by: Jed and the militia

Coming from different backgrounds, it was strange to see these two survivors meet their end in season 9 episode 4, but that just shows how much divide there was between the groups despite attempts to unify them.

Kathy was a survivor from Oceanside who was part of the group involved in Tara’s capture and escape as well as the infiltration of their camp by Daryl and the others from Alexandria. After the unification, she was often seen working on the bridge with members of the Saviors. But it was clear the tension between those two groups were high and Jed was willing to kill to prove his point about the missing people from the Sanctuary by shooting her.

On the other hand, Norris was a member of the Saviors who was part of the Sanctuary’s plan to get respect, their guns back, and stop the killing of their people. However, his willingness to work with Rick put him in the middle of the two groups and give him no real home. He chose to fight back with the Saviors, which proved to be a mistake as he was a casualty of the fight at the bridge camp.

Norris and Kathy were both caught in the middle of the quiet assault on the Sanctuary and both had the potential to be good long-term members of a larger community, proving the groups weren’t ready to put the past behind them.
