And then there it was. The big cliffhanger for the season. A voice on the radio calling out to the survivors. Eugene’s amplification worked well and now there is communication between the settlements, but someone else is on their frequency.

Many fans were hoping it would be Rick Grimes, but it sounds like a woman’s voice. Of course, it could be a familiar one like Maggie, Anne, or even Georgie…but it might also be someone from a community that hasn’t been introduced yet.

This will be the topic of speculation throughout the season. Like when people were picking apart the “Eenie-meanie-miney-moe” of Negan, there is a good chance that fans will be hearing unscrambled, slowed down, remixed, and other versions of this transmission this offseason to try to figure out who this individual is.

One thing for certain is that it has to be something big. Considering AMC chose this to be the way to end season 9, it must be believed that whoever is on the other side of that transmission will have a major impact in season 10 and beyond.
