Between the two shows, no one has survived death the way Daniel Salazar has. Salazar, who is scheduled to return in season 5 of Fear the Walking Dead, was presumed dead in the catastrophic fire on Abigail’s ranch in season 2. There wasn’t time to go back and check on him, but the fire was so big when everyone escaped that there was no reason to think he survived.

Salazar returned in season 3. He made his way to the dam and took charge, helping to run the dam and provide water to the people in need. He had major trust issues and wasn’t exactly welcoming to Madison and Strand when they showed up, and that lack of trust was certainly warranted based on their shared past experiences. Salazar is the one person who could always see through Strand’s stories.

At the end of season 3 Salazar took a bullet to the face right before the dam exploded. Nick and the Proctors were also on the dam and we know that Nick survived, so it’s not outside the realm of possibility that Salazar would have survived as well. Fans will soon learn where he has been and what he’s up to in season 5.
