Cailey Fleming reportedly signed a new contract deal for The Walking Dead season 10, and it’s a huge payday for the young actress who brings Judith to life.

Season 9 of The Walking Dead brought a lot of change to the series, and one of the biggest (and best) changes was the addition of Cailey Fleming to the cast in the role of a much older Judith. As the show moves toward season 10, Fleming’s people reportedly negotiated a new contract that includes a sizeable payday.

According to The Blast, Cailey Fleming just inked a deal worth a reported $250,000 for season 10 of The Walking Dead, and the deal includes a 5% cut of merchandising for the character and a relocation fee should she be required to move to accommodate the shooting schedule. It’s a hefty deal for the young actress, who just celebrated her 12th birthday.

Fleming’s payday takes on a whole new light when viewed through the lens of how much some of the other cast members earn. Unlike shows like Big Bang Theory and Modern Family, where cast members take home upwards of a million dollars per episode, which is absolutely mind-boggling, The Walking Dead cast members have made far less than that per episode. Andrew Lincoln was making $90,000 per episode for the majority of the series, and it wasn’t until he left that remaining original cast members Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride signed contracts worth millions of dollars.

When looking at Fleming’s reported contract, then, the amount she’s earning in season 10 is still impressive but it’s nowhere near what main cast members have made in the past, especially given that the reported amount is a lump sum as opposed to per episode. It also raises the question of how many episodes she will appear in, given that the total amount, when divided by 16 episodes, is roughly $15k per episode. (That’s still nothing to sneeze at, but it’s a notable difference)

While this might not seem like a huge amount of money compared to other shows, the cast of The Walking Dead has enjoyed extra income through appearances at fan conventions, where they can earn tens of thousands of dollars in a single weekend. It’s not a bad gig, really.

Cailey Fleming can be seen at many stops on the Walker Stalker Convention circuit and she can be seen as Judith when The Walking Dead returns for season 10 this fall.
