Fox gambled in 2017 by launching the sci-fi comedy The Orville from Seth MacFarlane, but it appears as though the show will get renewed by FOX for season 3.

When The Orville was announced by FOX in 2017, I wasn’t sure what to expect. As someone who didn’t watch a lot of shows like Star Trek or Lost in Space and never really got too into Star Wars, I wasn’t sure if the show would appeal to me despite my love for comedy.

After watching a few episodes, I was hooked. The amazing cast featuring the multi-talented Seth MacFarlane, The Walking Dead‘s Chad L. Coleman, Justified‘s Scott Grimes, John Wick‘s Adrianne Palicki, and others bring to life a new take on the traditional space saga.

At the conclusion of season 1, there was some concern as to whether or not there would be a second season. However, FOX went ahead with the show. To no surprise, the show continued to put forth great content and now the show is up for renewal again.

The question now is whether or not FOX will renew the show again. Unlike some other programs, The Orville has steadily been able to hold their audience of approximately three million viewers per episode, so that alone should be enough to convince the executives.

But the better reason to renew the show is that it is just a good show. A light-hearted space sitcom definitely has a place on the FOX lineup and some media outlets are raving over the show while others think season 3 may happen, but probably not beyond.

Next. Coleman is enjoying TWD season 9. dark

The Orville has a lot more story left to tell, even though the season 2 finale felt like it could be a fitting farewell for the series. Hopefully, the executives at FOX make the right decision so fans of The Walking Dead can continue to see Chad L. Coleman boldly going on in the show’s third season.
