Tips For Surviving Summertime In Georgia

If you have never been to Georgia in the summer before you may not quite be prepared for what a Georgia summer is like. Use these tips as a guide to what to bring, what to expect, and how to handle the Georgia summer heat which can be pretty intense if you’re not used to it:

·         Sunscreen. Use it. All day every day. Pick one with a high SPF factor.

·         If you’re going on a walking tour sunscreen won’t be quite enough. Wear a hat with a brim to protect yourself from the heat of the sun, especially if you’re going on a tour in the afternoon.

·         Morning tours are a good idea for families, people with limited mobility, and anyone that is heat sensitive.

·         Take frequent breaks. The heat and humidity of Georgia in the summer can take some getting used to when you’re used to a cooler and dryer climate.

·         Drink lots of water. Especially if you’re going to be going on a walking tour you should be drinking water than usual. Luckily there are a lot of places where you can get water, iced coffee, and other cool drinks throughout the day.

·         Wear light breathable fabrics because you will be sweating. A lot.
