Jessie

Jessie didn’t make it very far once the walkers arrived in Alexandria. She was kind of doomed from the start, really, because her sons were starting to struggle with the reality of the situation. Ron was dealing with the death of his father and Carl’s incursions into Ron’s territory while Sam was slipping away from the fear of what was happening all around him. When the walkers arrived Jessie tried to lead her family to safety but Sam freaked out and that alerted the walkers to their escape. Jessie died trying to save Sam, and Michonne had to cut her hand off because she was still holding on to Carl and keeping him from getting away.

As a character, Jessie wasn’t particularly noteworthy aside from the fact that her abusive husband Pete gave Rick something to focus his energy on. Rick knew what kind of man Pete was, and it was only a matter of time before the powder keg blew.

Jessie was a good person impacted by a really bad situation. She was never going to last long, and she had been suffering at her husband’s hands so long she wasn’t able to see that her sons were broken, too.
