Mother’s Day 2019: Celebrating 10 moms in The Walking Dead universe

Maggie’s path to motherhood was paved with heartbreak, but in a way it’s that heartbreak that made her the strong mother she is today. (Probably – we have no idea what she’s like because we haven’t seen Maggie in 6 years…)

There was such great joy when Maggie and Glenn found out they were going to be parents. Then, upon meeting Jesus, they won the apocalyptic lottery by finding out that the Hilltop had a doctor who could help her through her pregnancy.

Sadly, though, Maggie got sick and on the way to the Hilltop their motorcade was intercepted by Negan and that’s when her life changed forever. Maggie honored Glenn’s legacy by fighting on, going into battle like the fierce woman she is. (Who can forget Negan’s shocked “The widow’s alive with guns ablazin’” exclamation when Maggie’s forces rushed into Alexandria to save the day?)

Maggie’s son Hershel is the legacy who will carry on his mother’s memory when she’s gone, but for now there are still stories left to tell for Maggie Rhee.
