Mother’s Day 2019: Celebrating 10 moms in The Walking Dead universe

Like Michonne, Carol has been through a lot and no one has lost family the way she has. After being liberated from her abusive husband Ed, things were looking up for Carol as she continued along with her new “family.” Then Sophia went missing and was eventually found as a walker, and Carol’s life changed forever.

Over the years Carol served as a motherly figure for many kids on the show. She taught the kids at the prison how to defend themselves, she protected Judith with Tyreese and she ended up having to deal with Lizzie after the disturbed young girl killed her sister.

Carol became an unlikely role model for Sam in Alexandria after her attempts to scare him away didn’t work out quite the way she intended. The young boy ended up being eaten alive by the things he feared most, which was upsetting to Carol but she moved on.

Eventually Carol found Henry, and she found Ezekiel, and in those moments they formed their own little family. The arrival of Alpha changed their lives forever, and now Carol is once again left without children.

Seeing Carol suffer so much has been terrible. Perhaps in season 10 she will find the happiness that she is missing now that Henry is gone.

One thing is for sure: Mama Bear Carol is going to get her revenge eventually. She might be mourning now, but when she’s ready she’s going to get Alpha.
