Mother’s Day 2019: Celebrating 10 moms in The Walking Dead universe

Madison Clark gave up her life so that her kids could live. (Or did she? We never saw a body!) Every move she made after the world fell apart was for her kids, and she’s the ultimate mom of the Fear the Walking Dead universe.

Madison was far from perfect. She admitted to Alicia that she focused less on her daughter because her focus had always been on Nick, who needed her more than Alicia did. Even so, mother and daughter started to repair their relationship at the Mexican resort until Nick showed up – in trouble as usual – and things started to go back to the way they had been.

At Broke Jaw Ranch Madison’s plan was to find a way to make the ranch their home, no matter what she had to do. In the end she was willing to kill to make that a reality, and later she revealed her painful past to her kids. She had killed her own abusive father to escape his torment.

After the dam blew up Madison focused all of her energy trying to reunite with her kids. She eventually met up with Al, who filmed Madison’s story about her kids and the bird they found. All Madison did was think about her kids.

In the end, the OG of the Fear TWD lived and died for her kids. The ballpark was almost perfect for them and would have made the perfect long term home, and when it fell Madison laid down her life to give her kids the chance to escape. It was a horrible situation but it was entirely in her character to make the ultimate sacrifice to save them. That’s what makes her the ultimate mom of the Fear the Walking Dead universe.
