To help prepare you for Fear the Walking Dead season 5 we’ve compiled the titles of the first four episodes of the season along with each episode’s writers and directors.

The first four episodes of Fear the Walking Dead season 5 were made available to reviewers and the reviews of the season are starting to roll in ahead of the show’s premiere on June 2. The first four episode titles don’t offer much by way of clues but they’re interesting nonetheless, especially when paired with the writers and directors.

Of note on the list below is that Fear the Walking Dead star Colman Domingo is back behind the camera once again. “Humbug’s Gulch” is Domingo’s second episode and it gives him the distinction of being the first cast member to direct two episodes. (Michael Cudlitz is right behind him, directing an episode of The Walking Dead’s tenth season)

Clearly Domingo has found another passion and we’re betting that he’ll be back for another round in season 6, or perhaps he’ll jump the fence and direct an episode of The Walking Dead.

  • Episode 501: Here to Help
    • Writers: Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg
    • Director: Michael E. Satrazemis
  • Episode 502: The Hurt That Will Happen
    • Writer: Alex Delyle
    • Director: Jessica Lowrey
  • Episode 503: Humbug’s Gulch
    • Writer: Ashley Cardiff
    • Director: Colman Domingo
  • Episode 504: Skidmark
    • Writer: Samir Mehta
    • Director: Tara Nicole Weyr

The season premiere “Here to Help” establishes a direction for season 5. It starts out in the middle of the action and that’s a good thing because the story is really about what happens next rather than what happened up until that point.

It’s appropriate that showrunners Chambliss and Goldberg penned the script on this episode, to be certain, just as there’s no better director for the episode than Michael E. Satrazemis. Satrazemis has directed numerous episodes of Fear the Walking Dead after working for years on The Walking Dead franchise.

Make sure you tune in when Fear the Walking Dead returns on June 2.
