Don’t have time to watch all four previous seasons of Fear The Walking Dead? Our panel has you covered with their picks for the essential episodes of each season.

Fear The Walking Dead returns for season 5 very soon and it looks like season 5 is going to be the best season yet. If you haven’t watched the previous seasons of the show and don’t have time to watch all four previous seasons our panel has picked their essential episodes from each season so that you can watch the episodes that are the best, or give essential information, before Fear The Walking Dead returns on June 2.

Season 1 kicked off at the very beginning of the apocalypse in Los Angeles. Nick Clark, an addict, awoke from a drug induced sleep and stumbled through the old church where he and his girlfriend were getting high to find blood and bodies. He walked in on his girlfriend, the first known walker, eating someone.

Fleeing in panic he was hit by a car and ended up in the hospital. Over the next few weeks the world started to change as more and more walkers started appearing among the population. Madison Clark, Nick’s mother, and his sister Alicia Clark were drawn into the uncertainty and horror of what happening. As Madison and her boyfriend Travis Manawa tried to get a sense of what was happening they struggled to keep Nick, Alicia, and Travis’ son Chris safe.

The situation deteriorated quickly as the military took over and the world around them fell apart and they were forced to fight for freedom and for survival. Here are the episodes from season 1 that our panel feels are the ones that you shouldn’t miss:

Fear The Walking Dead Season 1 Essential Episodes

What episodes do you think are the best or essential episodes of Fear The Walking Dead season 1?

Sonya says:

"Everyone should start with the pilot because it really lays the groundwork for the characters. But in addition to the pilot I think that the essential episodes to watch are 103 “The Dog” and 105 “Cobalt”. They introduce some essential characters and hit on some very important plot points. Also I think they were really well done episodes that showed a lot of the potential that the show had."

Sara says:

"I really loved the pilot episode of Fear The Walking Dead. I thought that it was a great introduction to the series, and it was riveting from the very beginning. It was a great way to get to know the characters as well. Madison & Nick shine especially in this episode."

Jeffrey says:

"My pick is 106 “The Good Man”. It’s an episode that dramatically changed things forever as the characters left their home behind and ventured into danger to rescue their family."

Renee says:

"I felt like the very first episode really set the tone for the beginning seasons of this show. It let us see that even though this was a spin off of TWD it wasn’t TWD by a long shot. We were able to make a connection with this family and the beginnings of the ZA. We saw that they were dysfunctional and real."
