Fear The Walking Dead predictions: How will Dwight cross over?

Dwight is the latest The Walking Dead character to cross over to Fear The Walking Dead. Our panel discusses how he might arrive in the Fear world.

After the end of All Out War on The Walking Dead Dwight was driven out by Daryl. Daryl let Dwight live but banished him and told him to never come back. Dwight left to try and find his wife Sherry, who had escaped from The Sanctuary earlier. Sherry left some clues for Dwight in their old house so that he could hopefully find her.

Presumably Dwight will travel a similar path to the path that Morgan traveled from Virginia through Georgia and into Texas trying to find Sherry. But will he find a community in Texas? Will he find Sherry? How will Morgan and the others come across Dwight?

It will be interesting to see how Dwight will fit into the Fear world after his experiences as a Savior and after what Negan did to him. Will Dwight recover his humanity or will he try to emulate Negan’s leadership style at a community in Texas?

The walkers strung across the road and the heads in trees that were seen in the Fear The Walking Dead previews could indicate that Dwight has started his own Sanctuary style community and is using the tricks he learned as part of Negan’s fighting force to survive in Texas.

How do you think Dwight will appear for the first time in Fear TWD? Will he be with Sherry?

Sonya says:

"I can’t wait to see Dwight again. I know he’s done some terrible things, but who hasn’t in TWD world? I’m rooting for him to find Sherry and get the chance to start over. I’m not sure how Morgan will react to seeing Dwight though. Seeing Dwight and remembering All Out War and all of the emotions it stirred in him might send Morgan over the edge again. Or, it might be very healing for him to see a familiar face. We will have to wait and see."

Sara says:

"I’m so excited for Dwight’s arrival into Texas! We know that Dwight left from Virginia by car, so is it possible that Texas might just be a stop along the road for him, or is there another reason why he is there? I also wonder if Dwight might be a lone ranger, or has he joined another group?"

Jeffrey says:

"Daryl exiled Dwight at the end of All Out War and ordered him to go and find Sherry. While she herself hasn’t been seen since season 7 of The Walking Dead, perhaps there is a reason he ends up all the way in Texas. I think Dwight may catch wind or hear a rumor of Sherry going to Texas, and he follows the trail only to find Morgan and the group instead. The fact that Daryl expressly stated that he would kill Dwight if he returned to the communities gives him plenty of reason to get as far away from Virginia as possible."
