Intrigue

Let’s talk about the walker that Al encountered. He was wearing high-tech body armor and he was carrying documents with a symbol on them that we’ve seen elsewhere in The Walking Dead universe. (Hint: It’s on the helicopter that took Rick away)

Whoever the person was that tazed Al certainly didn’t want the intrepid reporter snooping around and reporting her findings, which means they have a secret to protect.

Needless to say, this is very likely the big connection that Scott M. Gimple teased at WonderCon and it’s nice that they didn’t wait long to reveal it before the surprise was spoiled. Sure, there are still lots of details that we don’t know. We don’t know who these people are or what they want, or why they’re in Texas. But Al’s disappearance is certainly one of many mysteries that will be explored this season.

All in all, this was one of the most exciting season premieres in Fear the Walking Dead history. There was plenty of action, drama and intrigue to keep the story moving and to have viewers wondering what’s going to happen next.
