2. The thrill of the hunt
Growing kids need to eat. When in the zombie apocalypse, there are times when growing your own food isn’t an option and scavaging for items for sustenance poses an even greater challenge after picking through nearby locations.
Still, the idea of kids shooting large animals with guns is a strange one, especially since there are usually courses which are taken before hunting licenses are issued in the real world and an adult is typically present for all of it.
Dylan actually managed to hit the deer with his shot, something that is remarkable considering the circumstances. However, the hunt wasn’t a successful one after being distracted by the crashing airplane of the show’s featured survivors.
The bad news for these kids is that they will remain hungry. Despite shooting the deer, the wounded creature will stay in the woods and the kids will be without meat for dinner. But there has to be the question of why hunting in an area that seems radioactive would be a good idea in the first place.
What we learned: Don’t hunt in a radioactive zone.
