4. Papers don’t fare well in the rain

Althea is a reporter. That said, she was smart to cover her camera with plastic while she was out in the pouring rain. Of course, video equipment is hard to find and very valuable to Al’s need to tell stories for people.

However, Al was nowhere near as careful with her findings at the crash site as she was with her equipment. Pulling papers from the body of a walker wearing body armor, she opened them up in the rain and the ink from the documents immediately started running.

It’s a bit surprising that she didn’t return to her vehicle where the papers wouldn’t be damaged, she had light, and she was more secure. However, given Al’s impulsive nature, it’s not too shocking that she was willing to ruin her findings to get information right away.

Al needs to take a step back when she feels the need to do something impulsively and think about the bigger picture. She also needs to think of the betterment of the group instead of chasing after a story to capture for posterity.

What we learned: If you find something valuable, treat it as such.
