Fear TWD, Survival Rule Of The Week: It’s not supposed to be easy

A zombie apocalypse will prove to be a lot of things, but, as Morgan said in the season premiere of Fear The Walking Dead, it’s NOT supposed to be easy.
In Sunday’s episode of Fear The Walking Dead, Alicia reminded Morgan that their efforts to help others, for the most part, fell on their face: Most of the people they’d met didn’t want their help (In fact, the kids they’d met earlier ran away from them), Luciana got severely injured, and they got the dungarees factory stolen out from under them.
Morgan’s response?
“It’s not supposed to be easy.”
And, you know what? He’s right.
If anyone, at any point, tells you that a zombie apocalypse will be easy…that’s when you know that they’re lying. A zombie apocalypse will not be easy.
Don’t get me wrong, there may be times, or places where zombies are thin on the ground, or hostiles are few and far between, but, don’t be fooled: Sooner or later, the shit will hit the fan. Whether that will be a herd discovering you, hostiles discovering you, a tornado discovering you, or you simply run out of food, and have to expose yourself to the aforementioned zombies and hostiles to get more, the shit will hit the fan.
If you think it won’t, or worse, think it can’t, then…you’re not gonna have a fun time in the apocalypse, let me just put it that way.
To really make it in the apocalypse, regardless of whether or not you’re going to try to help other people, you need to recognize that surviving is going to be the toughest thing you’ve ever done, and will force you to learn and do things you never thought you were ever going to learn or do in your lifetime. You can be ahead of the game by trying to learn some of those things before the apocalypse, but, that’s up to you, the important thing is knowing that surviving will be tough.
Nothing’s easy in this world, and a zombie apocalypse will be no exception, in fact, it’s going to be extraordinarily difficult. The sooner you realize it’s not supposed to be easy, the sooner you can try to prepare for it. The more prepared you are, the better off you’ll be.
