The Walking Dead star Danai Gurira joins a group of powerful women for the Drama Actress Roundtable on Sundance TV this July.

Danai Gurira will be one of the panelists featured at the Sundance TV Drama Actress Roundtable on July 7. The presentation includes powerful women from television and film sharing their stories as Emmy voting season heats up, and The Walking Dead and Marvel standout will be right at home with this distinguished panel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the Drama Actress Roundtable will feature several powerful women from around Hollywood. Danai Gurira will be there along with the Game of Thrones Mother of Dragons herself, Emilia Clarke. Other attendees include Patricia Arquette, Christine Baranski, Michelle Williams and Niecy Nash.

This star-studded lineup features a variety of diverse women at different stages of their careers. Baranski has been tied to countless Hollywood hits, both in film and television, while Arquette has enjoyed a very successful career as well. Nash is probably best known for her television roles while Williams has been in several hit movies. Gurira and Clarke both represent women who have dominated both television and the box office.

The goal of the Drama Actress Roundtable is for women to come together ahead of the Emmy voting season to celebrate their achievements, talk about issues facing women in Hollywood and provide inspiration for the next generation. It’s an opportunity to talk about their experience in Hollywood while highlighting their work, and the timing is perfect because all of these women either have been, will be or should be Emmy contenders.

Gurira’s performance in The Walking Dead season 9 is certainly Emmy-worthy, especially her standout moments in “Scars”, while Clarke’s final season as Daenerys Targaryen could land her a nomination.
