Trailer debut for new Pollyanna McIntosh film Darlin’
By Renee Hansen
Pollyanna McIntosh, who we all know as Jadis from TWD has a new film, Darlin’. She not only acts in but gets to spread her wings as a writer and director for this film.
The Walking Dead fans are very familiar with Pollyanna McIntosh’s character Jadis/Anne in the series. She is the one who takes Rick off to parts unknown by summoning a helicopter. She was the Scavengers queen that spoke in broken English who after the deaths of all her fellow scavengers became a member of the Alexandria community. It looks as though we haven’t seen the last of Jadis, she is slated to appear in the anticipated TWD movies.
Darlin’ is a sequel to The Woman, in which McIntosh plays the title character. She again takes up her role as the feral woman. The trailer is fast and gruesome and makes me want to watch this movie now!
Both McIntosh and Lauryn Canny seem to have the blank stares, ferocious temperaments and grungy appearance you would expect from people who have lived in the wild for a long period of time. The trailer shows us a transformation of Darlin‘ from the feral girl they start with to the ‘good girl’ they want her to be. But, we also see that things don’t stay that way for long.
"The movie synopsis: Found at a Catholic hospital filthy and ferocious, feral teenager Darlin’ is whisked off to a care home run by The Bishop and his obedient nuns, where she’s to be rehabilitated into a “good girl” as an example of the miraculous work of the church. But Darlin’ holds a secret darker than the “sins” she is threatened with, and she is not traveling alone. The Woman who raised her, equally fierce and feral, is ever present in the shadows of Darlin’s psyche and is determined to come for her no matter who tries to get in her way."
You probably noticed TWD actor, Cooper Andrews in the trailer. He plays the lovable and loyal companion to King Ezekiel at the Kingdom in TWD world. And fellow scavengers Thomas Francis Murphy and Sabrina Gennarino also join McIntosh in this twisted horror film.
