Grace

So far season 5 has given us some intriguing new characters. Between Logan and the three young siblings things were already interesting, but the addition of Grace ups the ante considerably. Grace is a fascinating character who arrives in the middle of a season whose theme is redemption. Grace believes that her choices led to her friends and colleagues dying and so she’s spending whatever time she has left righting the wrongs.

Karen David is brilliant in this role. Known for playing Princess Jasmine in Once Upon a Time as well as her role on Galavant, this is so far outside David’s wheelhouse that her performance is truly elevated by this new environment and it is truly something special to watch.

Nuclear Walkers

What a great concept. Not only can they kill you with a bite, but now they can kill you if you get too close. That’s something the show hasn’t seen and it’s something that might pop up anywhere given how many power plants must have suffered similar fates out there.

Thanks to Grace’s efforts people have a fighting chance of staying away from the radiation because of the perimeter she set up, but that won’t be the case in other areas and it would be fascinating to see what life is like in the apocalyptic exclusion zones.
