15. Season 10 Tone

The first thing fans will be looking for in the trailer is the tone of the season. Season 9 was full of hope at first, with a new beginning coming on the heels of the defeat of the Saviors. There was a bridge that would unite the communities, leading to a future of continued prosperity. Then Rick disappeared, and then the Whisperers unleashed a whole new brand of horror on the show.

Now, as the show enters season 10 the future is uncertain. The Kingdom has fallen, the Hilltop has seen better days and the threat from the Whisperers looms large over the survivors.

Tone is important. If the trailer is dark, then there are dark times ahead. But if the trailer is lighthearted or hopeful, well, that’s never a good sign because just as our beloved characters start to get comfortable things can turn quickly, as was seen in season 9.
