5. Daryl

Daryl isn’t leaving The Walking Dead any time soon, but his role in season 10 could take many different directions given that people look to him as a leader even though that’s the last thing he wants. Will we see Daryl leading the attack on the Whisperers in the trailer, or will he have a different role in season 10?

Daryl spent most of the six-year time jump living in the woods with Dog. Rick’s death didn’t sit right with him and he wanted to find his brother if only to put him to rest. Despite the searches, Rick’s body never turned up and it was enough to make Daryl wonder what had really happened.

Once Daryl came back to Hilltop with Carol it was clear that he missed his friends and family, but there wasn’t much time for him to adjust because that’s when the Whisperers arrived.

Now that things have settled down, though, he is in an interesting situation. He has never expressed interest or desire to be a leader, but he nevertheless ends up leading the charge in times of trouble. He has unfinished beef with Beta, too, and he’ll no doubt be chomping at the bit to get revenge. Daryl will have a hand in the defeat of the Whisperers, and hopefully we’ll get a glimpse in the trailer.
