1. Recovering from loss

When talking about heartbreak in the zombie apocalypse, it shouldn’t take long to get to one of the emotionally crushing moments that happened to Carol since her debut in season 1 of The Walking Dead.

She had to deal with the loss of her husband Ed, her daughter Sophia, adopted daughter Lizzie and Mika, her lover Tobin, and many friends and traveling companions along the way. But it appears as though the grief piling up after losing her adopted son Henry.

Henry played a big role in her life since it was her chance to start over with a new family. It will take a long time for her to accept this loss, and it has to be playing on her mind that so many of the young people around her seem to have a short life expectancy in the zombie apocalypse.

How long it will take for her to move past the Whisperers killing Henry is unknown. She should have some support with her friends, but this death should signal a dark period in Carol’s life like fans may have never seen before.
