Talking Dead is set to return and the newest taping dates offer clues as to what’s coming up for Fear the Walking Dead and a “Summer Special.”

Talking Dead fans were devastated to learn that there would be no after show for Fear the Walking Dead until the mid-season finale on July 21. The news was peculiar given the return of Daniel Salazar and the arrival of Dwight from The Walking Dead. However, the 1iota ticketing site has two events scheduled and they offer clues as to what’s coming up for Chris Hardwick and Talking Dead.

There are two Talking Dead events being filmed in July according to the audience site 1iota. The first is a Fear the Walking Dead double taping on July 12 and then there is a Talking Dead summer special on July 15.

It stands to reason that the Fear the Walking Dead double taping on July 12 will feature episodes 507 and 508, and that this episode of Talking Dead will air on July 21 for the mid-season finale.

The Summer Special tapes on July 15, the week of San Diego Comic-Con, and given that The Walking Dead panel takes place at the end of the week the timing is rather odd. Fans expect to see the season 10 trailer revealed at the The Walking Dead panel in Hall H, so unless fans at this taping are given an advanced look at the trailer, there’s no telling what will be featured at the “Summer Special.”

Unfortunately, it looks like the Fear the Walking Dead mid-season finale episode of Talking Dead will be taped based on this information. Taped episodes of Talking Dead are not unusual for Fear the Walking Dead, but it would have been nice to have a live show for the mid-season finale.

Tickets for both events are already on waitlist status, but it never hurts to sign up because openings do happen. You can find more information about being in the Talking Dead audience on the 1iota website.
