Fear the Walking Dead 505 recap: The End of Everything

“The End of Everything” actually signals the start of something big for Fear the Walking Dead (and The Walking Dead). Here’s your recap of episode 505.

This week’s episode of Fear the Walking Dead begins with Al being dragged along in the mud. It’s nighttime and a storm is raging. We’re back to the night of the season premiere. She wakes up to find that she has been tied up, but we all know this never stops her. When she sits up she sees the soldier destroying the remains of the other soldier.

Al takes that opportunity to run away into the woods, but not before grabbing her camera bag. She loses a boot along the way, but that doesn’t stop her. It’s dark and wet and she ends up sliding around, so she stops and grabs the tape from the camera as walkers bear down on her. When she arrives at the nearby river, she has a decision to make. There are walkers on both sides and the soldier is in pursuit.

She keeps going until she comes to the clearing, and then she realizes that it, too, is full of walkers. Suddenly there is the sound of gunshots as the soldier (Henceforth known as “Soldier”) kills the walker. Soldier knocks Al to the ground and Al kicks the helmet off, revealing that Soldier is a woman. She wants Al’s tapes, but Al says the tape from the crash site was in her missing boot.

Cue the credits, here we go! This week’s episode features the same clearing but this time a helicopter is flying around in the foreground before taking off into the distance for parts unknown.
