3. Opening the gates a little

As stated earlier, Michonne got burned (literally) by letting people into Alexandria without proper vetting. Sure, it was someone she knew before the world fell victim to a zombie apocalypse, but living among the undead can change people in huge ways.

Even though she closed the community up tightly for a while, seeing the good that can come from letting in a group of capable survivors with skills that can help the community has to be the asset of a great leader.

This is where judgment will need to come in. There are some master manipulators out there who will be able to pull the wool over the eyes of Michonne and the council…but for the most part, it will be tough to fool them all into a sense of security considering how thorough they can be.

A community that doesn’t grow is one that is bound to thin out and dissolve. With death happening often and some individuals needed elsewhere, Michonne knows there is power in numbers and keeping those numbers up will be a challenge since finding living people can be a challenge.
