The Walking Dead second spinoff casts three lead roles
By Sonya Iryna
The second spinoff of The Walking Dead now has its leads and is set to start filming this month in Virginia.
The untitled second spinoff of The Walking Dead is getting underway and today Variety announced that the new series has cast three lead roles. Alexa Mansour, Nicolas Cantu, and Hal Cumpston are going to play three lead characters in the new spinoff.
The early reports say that the spinoff will follow two young female protagonists as they navigate the apocalypse world. The twist in this spinoff is that it is set years into the apocalypse and the protagonists will have grown up in the apocalypse world not knowing what civilization was like before the fall.
Earlier casting calls went out for people to play walkers in the Virginia area, where the new spinoff will begin filming this month. The latest spinoff is tentatively scheduled to air in 2020 so AMC is wasting no time getting this show off the ground.
Alexa Mansour, who is presumably playing one of the two female protagonists, has several horror film appearances in her background including Unfriended: Dark Web. She also a string of TV appearances. No doubt she’ll be quite at home in the dark and gritty world of The Walking Dead. Her character, while not named yet, is described as a bit of a rule breaker who doesn’t follow the status quo. Those sound like qualities to have in the TWD world.
