Fear The Walking Dead, The Little Prince: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
1) This episode’s title sequence features one of the Cackleberry Kids’ walker fences in front of a radiation warning sign, representing the two dangerous places Alicia and Morgan, respectively, find themselves having to go into at the episode’s end.
2) The Scrabble pieces spelling out “LOVE” John shows Dwight while asking him about he and Sherry were first seen in the Season Four episode chronicling John and June’s relationship, “Laura”.
3) Jim’s self-sacrifice Strand references happened in Season Four’s penultimate episode, “I Lose People”, where Jim committed suicide to activate a car alarm to distract the dead surrounding the hospital the group was trapped in. Coincidentally, that episode was the last time we heard Sarah refer to the dead as “Jerkymen” prior to this episode.
4) Judging by the crime scene Dwight and John end up investigating, the diner owner(?) was killed only a little while earlier, because his body hadn’t started decaying yet. How long ago, exactly, had he been killed?
5) Am I alone in finding it funny that John, a former cop, is, for all intents and purposes, investigating a crime scene? By the way, this is the third callback this season, either directly or indirectly, to John’s former occupation.
6) Though it’s indirect, Dwight’s recounting of why he has Sherry’s wedding ring is the first reference to Negan in Fear The Walking Dead.
