Fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead can make donations at San Diego Comic-Con’s DeadQuarters to help end hunger.
When most people think of Comic-Con in San Diego images of people in costumes and an ocean of people trying to get a glimpse of some of the biggest names and properties in the world may come to mind. However, The Walking Dead wanted to take this opportunity to help out others in need.
According to AMC, Feeding San Diego has partnered with The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead to help bring food to those in need by establishing a drop-off point for donations of certain items at AMC’s DeadQuarters located at San Diego Comic-Con.
Starting Thursday, July 18 and running through Sunday, July 21, people can bring particular items to Martin Luther King Jr. Promenade, across from the Hilton Gaslamp Hotel. Individuals donating will receive a “Hilltop Token” which will be good for several discounts from local businesses throughout the weekend. In addition, those donating food items will be entered in a drawing to win a ticket to a cast autograph signing of Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead!
If you won’t be attending San Diego Comic-Con, you can still help. Cash donations can be made at the website of Feeding San Diego with each $10 donation providing 40 meals for those in need of food.
It is great to see AMC, TWD, and FearTWD teaming up with Feeding San Diego to make a difference at one of the biggest fan events of the year. Plus, being able to meet so many great stars from film and television as well as see media celebrities and amazing premieres is something that is pretty great as well!
