The first look teaser video for The Walking Dead film trilogy featuring Rick Grimes was released at San Deigo Comic-Con.

Ever since Andrew Lincoln left The Walking Dead and it was announced that Rick Grimes would be returning in three feature-length films fans have been anxiously waiting for any information about the films.

At San Diego Comic-Con, a teaser video for the films was released along with the information that the films will be shown in theaters and produced in conjunction with Skybound and Universal Pictures.

You can watch the Rick Grimes movies teaser here:

The movie is still untitled but shows the helicopter from the mysterious militia community that took Rick Grimes after the bridge blew up flying towards a decaying city. Does this mean that the mysterious group is the group known as the Commonwealth in the comic? Or is this group connected to the remnants of what used to be the government?

There are still many unanswered questions about the group that took Rick and how they connect to the larger The Walking Dead world but now they have been seen in The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead so whoever they are they have a huge reach.

Fans are excited to see Rick Grimes’ story continue and it will be fantastic to see that story continue on the big screen. There was no announcement about whether or not any of the other characters from the show would appear in the films. Fans are specifically wondering if Michonne will appear in the Rick Grimes movies because Danai Gurira confirmed at SDCC that she is exiting the series in season 10.

The First TWD Season Without Rick Grimes

It was great to get the teaser for the Rick Grimes movies today as the show held its first SDCC panel without Andrew Lincoln and heads into the first season of the show without him. While Rick Grimes is definitely missed and fans are eager to see him again The Walking Dead managed to push the story into an exciting new direction with the arrival of the Whisperers and the coming Whisperer War has fans emotionally invested in the show again even though Rick won’t be there for this battle.
