The mid-season finale of Fear the Walking Dead sets up a huge second half of the season. Here’s your recap of “Is Anybody Out There?”

“Is Anybody Out There?” begins in the past with Morgan at the denim factory. He asks the titular question, followed by Alicia and Strand, who note that they have food and shelter for anyone who needs it. They don’t want anything, they just want to help. “Your Own Personal Jesus” plays in the background. “Don’t be shy,” Dorie says as Sarah offers that they have beer. Time after time the group sits at the radio offering help to the silence.

Morgan asks, one last time. He looks dejected. Alicia comes in and says that it was a good idea but maybe they can’t make up for what they did because they’re the only ones left. Morgan can’t accept that. She tells him to take a dinner break.

When he walks away from the radio, it crackles. Someone is on the other side asking for help. Morgan and Alicia rush back in and the voice is so happy to hear them. He says his name is Logan. Morgan asks where he is as the camera pans away to the window.

Back in the present, the camera pans back to show Logan at the same window. The denim factory is in disarray. He gets a call from one of his people. They’re in the courtyard and they’re looking for “it” but “it” isn’t there. If Logan doesn’t reveal “its” location they’re going to kill him.

Cue the credits, here we go! This week’s title credits features the sound of the nuclear plant’s alarm system blaring in the distance as the clouds clear up overhead. There are blinking lights on the signs in the foreground and the road that was once so prominently featured is now covered with grass that has taken over.
