A walker is blown to bits in Fear the Walking Dead 509 sneak peek video

Check out a scene from season 5 episode 9 of Fear the Walking Dead titled “Channel 4” featuring a walker taking an explosive step in dangerous terrain.
The midseason break for season 5 of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead has arrived, but that doesn’t mean it is time to stop wondering what could be coming next in the popular zombie survival drama series, which returns on Aug. 11.
In addition to the amazing season 5B Comic-Con trailer, AMC has released a video showing a sneak peek at what the survivors are doing now that they have escaped the radiation zone and can continue helping others.
Take a look at a scene from the season 5 midseason premiere of Fear the Walking Dead as shared on the show’s official YouTube channel:
When the sneak peek starts, Morgan is inside a vehicle when Luciana calls for him on the walkie to ask for help. He responds that he is ready to assist but needs their location. The two groups meet at a house in the middle of nowhere. Luciana and John are now with Morgan and Althea. Oddly, both Althea and Luciana are now carrying video cameras.
Apparently, a woman named Tess is attempting to contact her husband on the walkie. He went out but hasn’t returned, and she is freaking out. She won’t leave the house because the field is rigged and she doesn’t know where “they” are.
Questioning her, Morgan wonders what the “they” are that she is referring to. Just then, a walker breaks through the gate and enters the yard…only to step on a landmine and get blown high into the air because of the explosion.
John astutely realizes that the objects in question are landmines. Debris falls from the sky with some of it hitting the survivors, but not really hurting them. Knowing the explosion will draw in more walkers, Morgan and the group starts a plan to fix the fence to secure the house as the video comes to an end.
It seems as though the ruse the survivors went through in the first half of season 5 hasn’t deterred them one bit from helping those in need. Tess’ issue seems legit, so there is a chance there isn’t some kind of sabotage at hand here. There is also the question of finding her husband, who is hopefully okay.
