Fear the Walking Dead star added to cast of Army Of The Dead on Netflix
By Adam Carlson
Director Zack Snyder is returning to the zombie genre with Army of the Dead on Netflix and he has tapped a Fear the Walking Dead star for the cast.
Fans of zombies have to be really loving Netflix. Shows and movies like The Walking Dead, Black Summer, Z Nation, iZombie, Santa Clarita Diet, Train to Busan, Zombieland, Life After Beth, and others provide plenty of undead drama for fans to sink their teeth into.
According to ScreenRant, there will soon be another addition to the zombie genre joining Netflix as director Zack Snyder announced Army of the Dead is coming to the streaming platform. Snyder’s directorial debut came with his remake of Dawn of the Dead, a George A. Romero classic, so expectations should be pretty high.
Along with the announcement of the project, major casting choices were made. Guardians of the Galaxy star and former WWE sports entertainer Dave Bautista will lead a group of mercenaries composed of the following actors:
- Raúl Castillo (Unsane)
- Ana de la Reguera (Power)
- Chris D’Elia (Alone Together)
- Huma Qureshi (Gangs of Wassypur)
- Ella Purnell (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children)
- Garret Dillahunt (Fear the Walking Dead)
- Nora Arnezeder (Mozart in the Jungle)
- Matthias Schweighöfer (You Are Wanted)
- Omari Hardwick (Power)
That’s right! Fear the Walking Dead actor Garret Dillahunt will be tackling the undead as part of this group of mercenaries. While the character will likely be much different from John Dorie, Dillahunt has become a fan favorite on the AMC zombie show and is a major catch for the project.
Snyder shared a photo of the cast on his Vero account and it looks like these survivors are ready for action!
At this time, there is no projected date for the release of Army Of The Dead on Netflix, but with this strong cast including a fan-favorite from Fear the Walking Dead being on board, this is one project fans of the undead will not want to miss!
