Get a sneak peek of the latest The Walking Dead spinoff when AMC presents a preview clip of the new show this Monday.
It wasn’t that long ago that AMC announced that another spinoff of The Walking Dead was in the works but the new show, which is the second spinoff of the original, is already filming. And on Monday, July 29th at 1 PM EST fans of TWD universe will get their first look at the new spinoff. You can get a reminder to view the video as soon as it is posted on The Walking Dead‘s Facebook page.
The new show will be set in Virginia and will follow two young female protagonists who have grown up in the apocalypse world. The previous spinoff of the original show started off at the very beginning of out the outbreak that caused the fall of civilization so it will be interesting to see a new perspective on apocalypse living from the latest spinoff.
One of the most interesting things about The Walking Dead universe is how it feels both familiar and unfamiliar because it still has a lot of the recognizable markers of the society we know. The new spinoff will have none of those markers because the protagonists will have never gone to school, driven a car, had a cellphone, used the Internet, or gone to a store.
The spinoff is already filming and it looks like the show will debut in the spring of 2020, probably airing around the same time as season 6 of Fear The Walking Dead.
What We Know About The Walking Dead’s Second Spinoff
So what do we know about the spinoff? The spinoff is filming now in and around Richmond, Virginia. Casting calls for walkers went out a month or so ago for filming in Virginia. Not long after that the main cast members for the spinoff were announced. The full main cast for the spinoff will be:
· Aliyah Royale playing Iris.
· Annet Nahendru playing Huck.
· Alexa Mansour playing Hope.
· Nicolas Cantu playing Elton.
· Hal Cumpston playing Silas.
The Walking Dead veteran Matt Negrete will be the showrunner. Negrete is a long time collaborator with Scott Gimple and has written more than 20 episodes of The Walking Dead by himself and with Angela Kang and Scott Gimple. He worked on some of the most important and most loved episodes of TWD like: “Consumed”, “Last Day On Earth”, “Hearts Still Beating”, “The First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life”, “Honor”, “Wrath”, “What Comes After”, and “The Storm”.
Hopefully more details about the spinoff will be revealed during the first look preview that will happen on The Walking Dead’s YouTube channel on Monday, July 29th at 1 PM EST. Follow @SonyaIryna and @UndeadWalkingFS on Twitter for more coverage of The Walking Dead universe.
