Logan says he wants the group’s help on Fear The Walking Dead but can he really be trusted? Our panelists have some thoughts about that.

In the Fear The Walking Dead midseason finale the group was finally reunited and they got to meet Logan in person when he asked for their help. But considering that he was the reason that the group was split and some of them were stranded on the other side of the mounts it’s not very likely that he can be trusted.

Still, in the apocalypse world allegiances are fluid and someone that is an enemy one day can be an ally the next. He was up front with them about what he’s looking for and why and the impact that Clayton’s journal could have on the future. And while he and his crew did trash the factory they didn’t destroy it and they did give it up, so whatever Logan and his group want they don’t want to set up a community.

It also didn’t seem like Logan’s group like him very much. It could be that he is only with them because he didn’t have a group to back him up when the others came to him wanting that journal. There are a lot of reasons why Logan could have ended up working with people that he clearly doesn’t have a great relationship with. Maybe now he figures that an alliance with the survivor group is a better bet than an alliance with the people who are looking for the journal.

Logan seems to be someone that avoids violence if possible although he’s capable of committing violence if necessary. Can the group trust him? Our panelists weigh in:

The Logan Situation

Should the group trust Logan? Do you think he is telling the truth?

Sonya says:

"I actually think that Logan is being straight with them about the oil fields but I don’t trust him and I don’t think they should either. He’s giving them exactly enough information to get them hooked in but that’s not the whole truth, he’s hanging onto the whole truth until he can use it to his advantage. His willingness to trick them and manipulate them into leaving the factory shows that he is always going to do what’s best for him and they shouldn’t trust him."

Sara says:

"I’m not so sure, Logan has already betrayed the group once. I don’t think they should fully trust him, he might just be using them."

Jeffrey says:

"Based on what Logan had to say about his group being violent, I think the best course of action is to just leave the area behind. I wouldn’t trust Logan at all after he literally caused such a massive ordeal by lying about needing help. He is telling the truth about the gasoline in vehicles going bad, but I don’t think it is wise to get tangled up in his mission."

Tim says:

"Conditionally. I think Logan is telling the truth but only up to a point. He is likely out for himself — his group wants to kill him if he can’t deliver, but he also isn’t fully onboard with helping others unless he can also help himself."

Sara L says:

"I do NOT think they should trust Logan. Even if he is possibly telling the truth now, once he gets what he wants I think he will be right back to his old self."
