The Fear the Walking Dead midseason finale had some pretty intense moments and emotional reunions. There were our favorite moments.

The Fear the Walking Dead midseason finale tied up a lot of the storylines that been dangling since the premiere. Logan’s purpose for luring them out of the factory and sending them on a wild goose chase was revealed when Sarah faced off with him as he and his followers left the factory. Logan’s still going to be a threat in the future though. He gave up the factory but he still wants Clayton’s journals.

The other survivors managed to get the plane fixed and in the air with everyone on board including the kids. After a terrifying ride, they made it across the mountains and Daniel and Sarah managed to light up the runway for them with the Christmas lights Daniel brought from the warehouse.

But it was Wendell who was the real MVP of the episode. As Al and Strand were trying to land the plane in the darkness he fought off a walker then crawled over the pavement to reach the generator and plug the lights back in after they were knocked loose. The lights came back on just as Al and Strand were starting a forced landing because they were out of fuel.

After the plane landed safely there were a lot of reunions and introductions since the survivors picked up Dwight and Grace on their adventure on the other side of the mountains. This episode had all the right notes: action, character development, story payoff, and some long-awaited reunions. Our panelists talk about their favorite moments:

The Best Moments Of The Fear the Walking Dead Midseason Finale

What was your favorite part of the Midseason finale?

Sonya says:

"There were a lot of great moments in this episode. It’s hard to choose but I think my favorite moment was Alicia seeing Daniel again. These two and Strand are the only OGs from season 1 that remain and they’ve been separated since season 2. They both knew and loved Ofelia, and Madison, and Nick. And I think in that world the bond you have with the people you survive with and the people who knew and loved your loved ones is intense. Since you don’t get to keep mementos or photos of the ones you lose being near someone who knew them is very special and powerful. I think Alicia needed this reunion and I think Daniel did too. He needed to be with people who remember Ofelia and loved her. I loved seeing these two find each other again."

Sara says:

"I really enjoyed the action sequences in the plane. I thought that was a lot of fun, and done really well. The action scenes really add so much to the show and make it really exciting. It was really well done."

Jeffrey says:

"My favorite part of the midseason finale would definitely have to be the reunions after the plane successfully landed. It was great to see Morgan and Althea thank Sarah and Wendell for their help in the plane landing. The best reunion is definitely Alicia and Daniel. They’re the two longest surviving characters in the series, yet they hadn’t seen one another since season 2, so this was extremely rewarding to see."

Tim says:

"Wendell’s heroics, especially since he lived. A sacrifice would’ve been too predictable. I know characters are going to die (not always by zombie) in the apocalypse, but it’s been refreshing to see characters living longer. It will make the eventual deaths more impactful."

Sara L says:

"My favorite part, hands down, was when Wendell saved the day! I adore Sarah and Wendell so much and if either of them die, I have no clue how I’d deal with that."
