The Rock jokes about The Walking Dead crossover with Hobbs and Shaw
By Adam Carlson
There have been a couple of crossovers in The Walking Dead universe but could fans imagine The Rock and the Hobbs & Shaw cast in the zombie apocalypse?
The Walking Dead has a massive following and an empire that includes two television shows (with a third on the way), upcoming movies, a rich comic book series that came to an end, board games, video games, and much, much more.
One thing that has only existed in the TV universe in the last few years are crossovers between shows. So far, characters from the flagship show in the franchise have made the jump to Fear the Walking Dead, but what if some characters from outside the franchise were to join the zombie apocalypse?
That question became more interesting after a fun Twitter exchange between the creator of the series Robert Kirkman and former WWE wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who is currently enjoying a lot of success in the movie Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
Kirkman is apparently a huge fan of The Fast and the Furious spinoff film and tweeted his love about it, which prompted Johnson to have an interesting response. Here is the exchange from Twitter:
Fans of The Rock can definitely smell what he is cooking. Although he is obviously joking, the idea of Johnson or the entire Hobbs & Shaw cast meeting up with Daryl and Carol, or possibly Morgan and Alicia would make for an interesting crossover.
Some fans came up with ideas for a crossover rather quickly. One individual quickly replied that Johnson would make an excellent version of Mercer from the comic book series. Others are excited about the thought of the muscle-bound cast of Hobbs & Shaw demolishing the undead. And one interesting reply wants The Rock’s character to join a stable with Negan.
If there were ever to be a film or show that included both the cast of Hobbs & Shaw as well as The Walking Dead, there is a chance it could be absolute box office or ratings gold! However, for now, it is just something fun to joke about as two celebrities enjoy each other’s work and have some fun on social media.
