Skittles has announced it’s new flavor – Rotten Zombie flavor. All of The Walking Dead fans can now see what walkers taste like with this new flavor.

Candy companies are always trying to find the newest thing to entice more sales. Jelly Belly did it with the Berties Botts from the Harry Potter series. We all got to try 10 regular flavors but, we also got 10 crazy creepy flavors. The creepy flavors consisted of black pepper, dirt, earthworms, earwax and even boogers, just to name a few.

While I understand where they got those flavors because these are all real things. It makes me wonder where Skittles is getting their rotten flesh flavor for their new candies from. Who sampled rotten flesh to find out walkers on The Walking Dead might taste like??

There will be the normal flavors with slightly more interesting names:  Petrifying Citrus Punch, Mummified Melon, Boogeyman Blackberry, Chilling Black Cherry, and Blood Red Berry. But, the Zombie Pack will also contain the rotten zombie flavor mixed in. Company representatives state: “It’s an utterly disgusting taste experience that will elicit strong reactions from anyone and everyone daring enough to try it.”

Rebecca Duke from Mars Wrigley U.S. told Food & Wine:

"“Our fans love Skittles not just for its delicious fruity flavors, but for the irreverence and sense of humor for which the brand is known,” Rebecca Duke, Skittles’ senior brand manager at Mars Wrigley U.S., said in a statement. “This Halloween, we wanted to give our fans the ultimate rotten twist on the candy they know and love, challenging them to test their bravery over a bag of Zombie Skittles.”"

The brand is asking people to share their reactions to eating them for the first time on social media by using the hashtag #DareTheRainbow. Plans are to have them available by October 2019. Hopefully, this coincides with the debut of The Walking Dead season 10. It would make for some very interesting viewing parties.  And, in an even better marketing scheme, they could get some TWD actors to make the commercials! I would love to hear Daryl’s profanities when he bites into a rotten flavored one from the pack.
