The Fear The Walking Dead midseason premiere kicks off what looks like an exciting finish to season 5. Our panelists have some predictions about what’s coming in 5B.

Most of the first half of Fear The Walking Dead season 5 centered on the splintered group trying to get back together and avoid the fallout from the nuclear reactor meltdown. But it looks like season 5B is going to be focused on the group trying to keep control of the oil fields while also fulfilling their mission to help people and try to enjoy living again. Of course things never run smoothly in The Walking Dead universe so there’s bound to be some new villains popping up and some new problems presenting themselves throughout the second half of season 5.

But it’s going to be interesting to see how the characters adapt to the changes that happened in the beginning of season 5. Although they didn’t spend that much time on the other side of the mountain that time changed all of the people that were on the plane.

They’re going to be focused on learning to live again as much as they were focused on finding redemption. They have realized that part of getting that redemption is learning to let go of their guilt and shame and negative emotions over what they did to survive and letting themselves experience life again.

They also will undoubtedly deal with more loss. The only constant in this world is loss and usually that loss is sudden and violent. Will all of the survivors make it out of season 5B? What will happen in the Fear The Walking Dead midseason premiere “Channel 4”? Our panelists have some predictions:

Fear The Walking Dead season 5B Predictions

What are your predictions for episode 509 “Channel 4” or for 5B in general?

Sonya says:

"It’s really difficult to speculate because what they’re doing is so original. But I predict that we will lose at least one major character and that one or more familiar faces from the past will return."

Sara says:

"I think that we are gonna see a whole different side to the survivors and their journey which looks really exciting. From what we saw from the 5B trailer, it looks like we will see more personal connections between the survivors which I’m really excited to see!"

Jeffrey says:

"I think we will see the group go out on several successful quests to help people in need. The first half of the season proved to them that they are capable of helping others, so it would be rewarding to see that in action this half."

Sara L. says:

"For the mid season premire I’m hoping for the “found footage” aspect to be a bit more comical and lighthearted, we could always use a bit more nice moments in dark apocalyptic tv shows like this. For 5B I’m hoping we get to see MORE TWIN MOMENTS and more of the helicopter group and connection to the universe as a whole! Wishful thinking I suppose!"

Jill says:

"I don’t have any predictions, but I am hoping to learn more about that three-ring agency. It’s doubtful we’ll get more Intel on that just yet, though, as the story has circled back to the Logan dilemma.  Well actually… I predict Logan will join the squad before the season is over."
